The Palais of art

Find an excerpt from the discoveries of our treasure hunt:

Its construction began in 1865 under the leadership of the architect Henri-Jacques Espérandieu. It hosts a library and the School of Fine Arts. The main front is entirely built of stone from the Tarascon region. Above each door is a full-sided window with winged geniuses. On the summit of these fore-bodies are placed niches in which the genius of the sciences is situated on the right, and the genius of the arts on the left.

On the front are represented the great epochs of art by means of ten busts representing the monarchs customizing a great era and above each bust is engraved the most beautiful achievement of their time.
